Telehealth is a convenient alternative to in-person therapy. There is no need to commute, find a new office, or sit in a waiting room. Telehealth is as effective as in-person therapy in the comfort of your own space. All you need is an electronic device and internet connection. My adult therapeutic relationships remain strong and they receive the same therapeutic outcomes as they would if we met face-to-face.
I have done in-person therapy for most of my career. I do recommend in-person therapy for younger children who benefit from play therapy and additional support. Some adults have a strong preference for in-person therapy and I recommend my highly qualified colleagues who offer in-person therapy in the welcoming and comfortable setting of Cabot Psychological Services.
